           Newbury Animal Hospital

Newbury Animal Hospital, founded in 1992 by Dr. John Grillo, is a  full service companion veterinary hospital . Dr. Grillo and his dedicated team of professionals are committed to providing quality veterinary care throughout the life of your pet. Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime.

Statement of Purpose

We have had the privilege of providing healthcare to the pets of the greater Newburyport area for the past 22 years. We have greeted them as puppies and kittens, seen them for their annual visits, removed rocks from their stomachs and unblocked their urinary tracts. We have cut their nails and expressed their anal glands. No, it's not all romance! We share the sharp pain of helping them go when it becomes an unkindness to keep them with us.

Our pets enrich our lives in many ways. They lower our blood pressure, improve our health and comfort us when others have hurt us. We can never be friendless. As we age and our children become increasing involved in their adult lives, our pets spare us the sense of isolation that so frequently envelops us. They give our lives purpose.

There is an intimacy that we share with the families of our patients, and we are grateful to be admitted to that circle for both for the happy times and the sad times.

A veterinary hospital can be a stressful setting to work in, but the satisfaction we derive from our work is immeasurable.

It is our purpose to keep your pets as healthy as possible and to support the bond between you and your pet in any way we can.

At this site, you will find information about our practice philosophy, our services, helpful forms to assist you and an extensive Pet Medical Libraryfor you to search for additional pet health care information.
